Island Indigo

Working with watercolor reminds me not to be stingy with the paint, but to lay down washes with abandon, watching for the movements of paint and water. This makes me have to play with time. Drying time. Allowing the fickle way moving color will take me away from preconceived ideas, and often back to gentle lines and shapes, while blotting, scraping, and looking to bring life to the vulnerable and often unforgiving paper before me.
